The occupants of these new roomier seats dissolve into place as the camera dollies from the forward to the rear of the plane in this spot for American Airlines. A motion controlled camera was used to make two identical passes of the seats, one with passengers and one without. The trick is to dissolve in the entire seat, wall and person in each aisle so that there is a smooth transition for the lighting and shadows that fall on the seat and wall. My chore was to rotoscope each section of seating so that the compositor could seamlessly dissolve in each new row one at a time.
